Knead a new job?

We’re a team of early risers, coffee drinkers, and pastry enthusiasts who believe that life’s too short for bad bread. The Boat Shed Bakery is built on craft, community, and a whole lot of butter - and we’re looking for good humans to join the crew.

Why us?

We’re not just in the business of pastries - we’re in the business of people. The Boat Shed Bakery is built on early mornings, great coffee, and a team that genuinely enjoys what they do (and who they work with).

Here, careers rise as fast as our sourdough. You’ll learn, grow, and probably pick up a few new party tricks - like how to tell when a croissant has perfect layers. More importantly, you’ll be part of a supportive crew that keeps things fun while getting the job done.

The perks? Daily pastry fuel, discounts across our venues, and a front-row seat to the best view in town. Add in steady hours, skill-building, and a workplace where culture isn’t just a buzzword (yes, we actually like hanging out together), and you’ve got yourself a pretty tasty gig.

So, if you’re keen to work hard, laugh often, and never take yourself too seriously - this might just be the perfect fit.

Now Hiring: Baker

Flaky layers, creamy choux, crusty loaves - if that’s your language, you’ll feel right at home here. Join us as a Baker / Pastry Chef and put your craft into cabinets, cafés, and restaurants across Queenstown.

Now Hiring: Bakery Assistant

Think early mornings, real craft, and the odd croissant “quality check.” You’ll be part of the team that preps, bakes, and keeps Queenstown running on pastry - with plenty to learn and a team worth showing up for.

Now Hiring: Front of House

Think pastries flying off the counter, and a steady stream of locals and travellers to keep you on your toes. You’ll be the face of the Bakery - serving, chatting, and keeping the place running smooth. It’s quick, people-focused, and always a bit different from one shift to the next. Bonus: you’ll never be far from a croissant.
